Wednesday betting preview

Much of the Scottish Premiership will focus on next week’s Old Firm contest, but the four-point gap between Rangers and Celtic could widen ahead of this Parkhead clash.

A trip to Hearts is a difficult task at the best of times and Celtic will miss many players on Wednesday night.

Daizen Maeda and Tom Rogic are out on international duty, David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi are injured, and Yosuke Ideguchi, Liel Abada and Callum McGregor were all sent off in the Bhoys’ Scottish Cup tie against Alloa this weekend .

That aside, the Jambos have lost just one of their 13 games at Tynecastle this season and that run includes a 2-1 win over Celtic. Key trio John Souttar, Ben Woodburn and Beni Baningime are all set to return for visiting Celtic and Hearts could prove a tough team to break.

Rangers, on the other hand, are expected to hammer a limited Livingston outfit. Livi has already been beaten three times by Gers this season, with an aggregate score of 8-1.

David Martindale’s men have managed just one shot on target in that trio of games against the Ibrox side and it’s hard to see Livi having any joy against the Rangers backline.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side dropped points against Aberdeen in their last league game but suffered questionable decisions in that match and are unlikely to make the same mistake against Livingston.
