Match preview
The Buccaneers and Cowboys lock horns in Week 1 for the second straight year, after kicking off the 2021 season in a game Tampa won in the dying seconds. This game is likely to be just as competitive, but don’t expect it to turn into a full shootout.
The Bucs have Tom Brady back under center after his short retirement, but his offensive line is battered and it could work against him. Brady was the NFL’s second-highest rated passer last season, but fell to tenth when under pressure. In this match, Brady will be without center Ryan Jensen, and even substitute Robert Hainsley is suffering from an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, three other offensive linemen on the Bucs’ roster are questionable heading into Week One, and that includes Tristan Wirfs, the starting right tackle. It will be music to the ears of the Cowboys defense, especially DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons, the latter of whom won Defensive Rookie of the Year last season.
As for the Dallas offense, they, too, are dealing with minor injuries to the offensive line and wide receiver, which could cause them to come out of the starting blocks a little slow.
All things considered, that total seems a little too high and it’s worth supporting the lesser.
