Tournament Overview
The best potters in the men’s and women’s game gather for the World Mixed Doubles at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.
There are four teams, with a best-of-four round-robin format, and the top two teams will advance to the final.
Ronnie O’Sullivan lines up alongside Reanne Evans and this pair leads the market at 2-1. Neil Robertson and partner Nutcharut ‘Mink’ Wongharuthai are second in betting at 9-4, then it’s Judd Trump and Ng On-Yee at 5-2.
It’s a tight heat between these three teams, but there aren’t as many expectations from 8-1 pokes Mark Selby and Rebecca Kenna, who have struggled for form in recent months.
Unfortunately, these are alternating-hit pairs, rather than alternating-hit doubles, and that’s likely to give the best potters in the men’s game plenty of time. It’s a short format, and there’s clearly little between the top three teams, but maybe the 5-2 over Trump and On-Yee is the value play.
The Ace are three-time winners and two-time runners-up in the Championship League round robin and the Bristol cueman has won numerous best-of-seven frame trophies in his career.
On-Yee is a three-time world champion. The 31-year-old is the only player to challenge Evans’ dominance and alongside Trump she could claim the world’s first mixed doubles crown.
