England are favorites to win their first major tournament after beating Spain who staged a semi-final against Sweden on Tuesday.

The Spaniards started the tournament as the only team ahead of the Lionesses in betting and after beating La Roja 2-1 thanks to an extra-time winner from Georgia Stanway, Sarina Wiegman’s side are top-rated 7-4 to win Euro 2022.

After running through their group without conceding, the hosts faced their first real test in Brighton and were just six minutes from the start of the tournament after Esther Gonzalez’s 54th-minute goal.

However, substitute Ella Toone equalized in the 84th minute to send the game into extra time before Stanway’s lightning strike secured the Lionesses’ passage to the last four.

Semi-final opponents Sweden are 6-1 best-odds to win the tournament and edged England 2-1 in their last encounter, the World Cup third-place qualifier. 2019.

In the other semi-final, Germany have a 5-2 chance on 3-1 shots against France in what promises to be a competitive encounter.

Les Bleues had a tough round of 16 game against the Netherlands that ended goalless after 90 minutes before Eve Perisset scored an extra-time penalty to break the French curse of quarter-final defeats.

Germany, on the other hand, managed a more comfortable 2-0 victory over Austria to secure a draw against Corinne Deacon’s side.

The race for the Golden Boot is also still on with Germany’s Alexandra Popp looking to close the one-goal gap with England’s Beth Mead leading the way with five goals. Mead has a long shot at winning top scorer honours, with Popp a 5-1 chance.
